Welcome and thank you for visiting the webpage for the Doctor of 职业治疗 (OTD) program at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). 成立于1897年, LMU has a rich tradition in delivering a comprehensive values-based learning community dedicated to providing quality educational experiences at the under研究生, 研究生, 专业水平. The LMU OTD program is housed within the DeBusk College of 整骨疗法的医学- Knoxville campus located in West Knoxville, 田纳西州, alongside many other healthcare programs, 如, Doctor of 整骨疗法的医学 (DO), Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies (PA), and 物理治疗博士 (DPT).
Over the course of three years, students complete 6 semesters in the classroom (Didactic Phase) and 3 semesters in clinical experiences (Clinical Phase). 在教学阶段, students are introduced to occupational therapy, 沉浸在解剖学中, 通过研究指导, and prepared for clinical experiences. 在这两年里, students receive a variety of learning experiences including traditional lectures, 小组项目, 实验室会议, and simulated patient experiences. 在临床阶段, 学生完成两个, 12-week Level II Fieldwork experiences and a 14-week Capstone experience. Clinical experiences allow for the knowledge learned in the didactic phase to be put into practice while also providing space for active learning and self-reflection.
Being positioned within a health sciences campus, our students are provided with opportunities to interact with other healthcare professionals. This includes two courses that are taken alongside the DPT students to increase knowledge and understanding of occupational therapy’s distinct value within an interdisciplinary team.

The Lincoln Memorial University Doctor of 职业治疗计划 is accredited by the 认证 Council for 职业治疗 Education (ACOTE) of the American 职业治疗 Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, 200套房, 北贝塞斯达, MD 20852-4929. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in 职业治疗 (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, 注册(OTR). 除了, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a 研究生’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
Students must complete 24 weeks of Level II fieldwork as well as an individual 14-week capstone experience within 24 months following the completion of the didactic portion of the program. The doctoral capstone experience must be started after completion of all coursework and Level II fieldwork as well as completion of preparatory activities defined in 2018 ACOTE OTD Standard D.1.3.
